Rock Cliff Texture

in art •  7 years ago  (edited)

In a trip to South Aceh in order to work on a documentary film, the guide drove me to a beach that is rarely visited by tourists in Paya Peulumat, East Labuhan Haji, South Aceh Regency. There I took video footage of the needs of a documentary. On that occasion, I took the time to take photographs of rock cliffs that were constantly hit by the waves. I think this is an interesting object sort of a work of art that is processed by nature.

The rocks in the universe are areas of scientific study that have been widely reviewed by experts, The Encyclopædia Britannica preached "About 3,000 distinct mineral species are recognized, but relatively few are important in the kinds of rocks that are abundant in the outer part of the Earth". The study of rocks called Petrology is a branch of Geology.

Petrology, scientific study of rocks that deals with their composition, texture, and structure; their occurrence and distribution; and their origin in relation to physicochemical conditions and geologic processes. It is concerned with all three major types of rocks—igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary. Petrology includes the subdisciplines of experimental petrology and petrography. Experimental petrology involves the laboratory synthesis of rocks for the purpose of ascertaining the physical and chemical conditions under which rock formation occurs. britannica.com

An Inspiration

On the other hand, rock cliffs have inspired Said Akram, an Acehnese artist. His entire work is characterized by rock cliffs texture and water droplets that have been cultivated into interesting works of art in canvas media, he holds a myriad of national and international achievements in the field of painting. Nature has inspired it about decoration, motif, and color. His paintings in the collection of National Gallery of Indonesia, here one of the paintings quoted from the arsip.galeri-nasional.or.id
