Screen printing a colour blend onto a tshirt

in art •  6 years ago

How's it going Steemers?

So today's Tshirt printing job was a two colour blend. Orange to yellow ink with a white key line.

Now I haven't done an on screen colour blend in ages so I thought I would take some photos of the process.

This job is for an upcoming metal festival call Outmoshyama. So it was alot better to look at than most of the corporate printing jobs I have on at the moment.

So after you have centred and lined up the two colours, it's time to load the shirt onto the plattern.

Now to get the blend on the screen, put the yellow ink working its way from the bottom to the top.

Then the orange from top down and thin it out as the two colours meet.

Work the ink so they blend together where the two colours meet with the squeegee until it looks like it's a clean blend. Then pull the ink through the screen.

Once you have put down a second layer of this blend, it's time to add the white key line around the blend.

Two coats of white over the blend and voila you got yourself a two colour print with a blend 😊

I know it's not the most difficult screenprint to do but it was fun to do the blends on these shirts.

If you have any questions please ask away 😊 and thanks for stopping by!
