WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN MIND...steemCreated with Sketch.

...when you explore the immaterial flow of electronic impulses on your computer?

As new technologies became available, artists have always learned to use them and new ways of expression were developed. Think of artists like Caravaggio in 1807 making use of the Camera Obscura in his production technique, artists using airbrushes, silkscreens, acrylic paints are more examples of this.

Let's forget about the technique used to create something...if you think of a painting like an idea you have in your mind it stays immaterial until you start to paint it on the surface of your choice, on paper, on canvas or in the magnetic field of the computers hard drive.
If people ask me how my artworks are made I always answer that they are made with digital tools but the most important software is situated on the right side of your brain, called INSPIRATION.

Yep, it's quite crazy when you really get to thinking what the possibilities will be in the not-so-distant future... Do you know about Elon Musk's company Neuralink, and what they're trying to do?

...absolutely! And all this is only possible because it is one man that has the power to decide which way to go and no big organisations that quarrel about budgets and egos...

LO FELICITO AMIGO EXCELENTE

I can't wait for vr tools where you can paint an entire environment with a paintbrush while inside it. I think it is already created basically; just not perfected.

It is weird when I make digital paintings or enhance my art digitally; I feel like there is this automatic need to explain myself; like there is something wrong with using digital tools. I think perhaps some people just do not know the different between filters that make a photo look like a painting in seconds; and art that takes knowlege and vision to produce.

In 1982 Time Magazine named the Computer its "Machine of the year" and from that moment on this machine never stopped getting more and more used in every part of our daily life.
If you think of a painting like an idea you have in your mind, it remains virtual until you start painting it on the surface of your choice and it doesn't matter if you work on paper, canvas or in the magnetic field of the computers hard drive.

I wrote something about the acceptance of digital Art here:

Great piece. Digital art is becoming more and more intuitive as people become used to computers. It is also a great tool for people with vision but not hand/ eye coordinationtion. I like to tell people they should not give up on being an artist, but to find the tools that suit them. I have trouble with white surfaces as they hurt my eyes, for example.

Some of the best art I know is by people who refer to themselves as" hobbiests". Then some people on Steemit say they are " artists" and they just slap a filter on a photo.( I do use filters they are fun but some people use them deceptively)

You are right though, it is best for the viewer to just think of the art first. But as an artist I will always be curious how things are made because the more freedom to produce my vision I have the happiest I am. I draw every day for hours but my arm is still shaky.
