A line is a dot that went for a walk...
When the swiss artist Paul Klee wrote this into his notebook, he was busy creating his later works including hieroglygh like symbols which he described in this way.
Paul Klee, Erzengel 1938
Generally speaking you have 5 main types of lines in art: vertical, horizontal, diagonal, zigzag and curved lines. All the others are only variations and what they all have in common is the starting point that is moving in space.
All the ways that may lead to some piece of art begin with this simple dot in space.

As you can see on this piece that I've made to illustrate the writing ,my dots have a live of their own, they stay in a straight line only rarely and don't worry about symmetry and such...prefering chaos to order.
What can I do? I hope that you will like it anyway...
The better you look the more you will see
awesome - and all this without crutches!
