When I was a kid I would rush to complete my schoolwork so I could spend time drawing. I'd get lost for 10 hrs straight sometimes. It helped me cope with a lot of stuff as it's very similar to meditation. I started out by drawing pokemon and then mostly dragons & animals. This is all I have left unfortunately. I somehow lost a 3" stack of thousands upon thousands of hours worth of art in a move when I was a teenager and ever since haven't done much drawing and I don't finish much of what I start. I hope to one day get back into it. My life has been pretty focused in the physical though living offgrid. A few of these I don't think I've ever even shown anyone.

This is originally a painting. I was so inspired to recreate it that I used whatever I could find, which at the time was a sharpie & some broken pencil crayons

Dragons were my favourite thing to draw when I was a kid. I did at least 100 dragons. This one I wrote a short story about, wish I still had it.

This was going to be a tattoo for a friend that was a tribute to dimebag darrel with a dean guitar busting out of skull with mushroom tuning pieces. Like the remaining drawings, it never got finished.

Maybe one day I will complete these

For those who've never heard of Okami one of the reasons I love her so much is because she is a dirty wolf in the eyes of those who don't believe in her but in the eyes of those that do she is a goddess. The more people who believe in her the stronger her powers get to save the world.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. - Marianne Williamson

Nice drawings @wisewoof. I like Tonberry one a lot. Are these copied or original works? Going after meditative creative work is a wonderful way of lef healing. I remember myself how I was spending hous and hours when I was a teenager copying surreal master works of Magritte and Dali on smaller sized canvases with acrylic paint for hours. I learned so much of that "study".
Sadly I gave up on painting, when I went to university, after computer work took over about 100% of dayly time. I should definitely get back into painting.
Thank you for shring.

Thankyou, I'm glad you like them! Some are copied, some are a mixture and some are original. It truly is healing, I can't even begin to think what my life might've been like if I didn't have this outlet during those times. I have a few paintings to share in a future post about mental struggles that really show my psychological state during those times, they're kinda "crazy". That's super cool, I'd love to see! I hope you do! We both should definitely get back into it, the benefits to mind/body/spirit are powerful.

I would love to see my painting as well. Looooong time ago! (about 20 years) And they where all given away as presents after they where finished. No chance to get a look at them. Sorry.

Awwe I know the feeling! I gave away a lot of my art too. And the rest was simply lost. <33

Yes... and lost. I got thinking about painting already lately, after being on the water colours with my kids and with the first stroke on the paper - ZOOOOMM- I was in the zone. While growing up, one really has to fight to keep the own child within alive. And having children helps to accomplish that. Well, at least having young children....

Very true, I hope to one day have children but for now my animals play that role it seems haha

Did a small write up on an art related event here in the garden inspired by our conversation here. Thank you very much for the inspiration!

My pleasure! :D

Great stuff Taash! I would have to say the tonberry is my fav aswell. Im bais though, always had a special place in my heart for the little creeper or should i say reaper? CHEF KNIFE! Dead! Hes a reaper creeper to be sure, with a lantren full of ultima makes for a formidable foe. i spent hours trying to get King Tonberry in Odins tower. How delightfuly frusterating.. Okami is such a great game too.. Aside from what you mentioned the fact that it is a living water color painting and you fight using brush strokes if i remember correctly? All great stuff though! Mhm

Thankyoou :3 Haha I too spent hours getting king tonberry, good times. Had to complete those games 100% or I wouldn't be satisfied. Not nearly as frustrating as trying to play crisis core on hard mode though. Tried that about a week ago and felt like I might just have an aneurysm. Okami will always be my favourite game. It's actually done entirely in calligraphy and yes you harness the elements and others powers with tail brush strokes. Soo cool! ^_^

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

that is a Great words

Depending on these simple and beautiful paintings... Can see the stages of your life( the hope... The Force. and a lot of mystery...)
These simple paintings are the best book for your life... Good job, friend @wisewoof .

Thankyou friend @yagoub I like your perspective, it makes sense <3

Thank you for sharing your artworks! it' amazing how it helped you cope with a lot of stuff as it's very similar to meditation. I am not an artist myself on drawing and painting. But I do find my garden to be my canvas where I can paint it with plants and a place for me to meditate!

'painting with plants' is an awesome metaphor, gardening is also meditation to me, I hope to be doing a lot more of it this spring ^_^

I'll be cheering for you. :-)

I love your art Tasha! Especially the last few of them. We should colab on a huge mural behind my house, make it a fantastical and trippy scene out of another world, like a portal sorta!
(jeez, thats I good idea, gotta write this shit down, portals!)

Thankyou! I like the idea of collaborative art. It's something I've never really done before but would like to so that would be fabulous! ^_^
