Art Challenge 6: Something similar to an entry but not quite

I’ve entered about three Art Challenges so far. Last week’s challenge was tough but this week’s painting left me with far more questions than answers. I wanted to take part anyway so I decided that instead of submitting an entry, I’d just explain my thoughts and questions about this week's painting.

Why red shoes? There were so many other things to make a bridge from (infinite things because this is surreal art). Do those high heels represent femininity and if so is it a very specific type of femininity? Does the colour red imply boldness, triumph or passion?

It looks like the man behind the cyclist is walking with a cane, is he having difficulty on such a steep incline or is he actually holding part of the leash which leads to what I assume is a dog? Both the fish and the shoes seem disproportionately large, could the people be very small instead? Perhaps the mountains are molehill-sized and all the trees are tiny shrubs.

The huge, gray cloud seems to hover right above the bridge, will these people face hardship or just rain? Do the bright red shoes add excitement to their dreary world? Were they a gift from a fashionable giantess?

I may never know the answers.
