The Creature Series

I have been experimenting on different styles and canvas with water color. I am always doing some sort of galaxy style and abstract but this time I want to create something with a gigure and recognizable with my style. In this painting series, I decided to paint the creatures i really love: *Butterfly, Dragon Fly, Seashell and Seahorse. And I used a new canvas, a FIBER BOARD.

These are the materials I used:

Marie's Watercolor

Colleen White Poster Paint

Water

Fiber Board

Gold Acrylic

The fiber boards are easy and clean to cut. I decided to make 4 panels of 5x5" boards on which I will use water color.*

At first, I thought it would not dry on wood like how it is dried up with watercolor paper, but the results were perfectly satisfying.

Good thing about fiber boards is that it absorb the watercolor just like the normal watercolor paper. Plus, the result of the dried watercolor is flat and clean too. Perfect for the texture I wanted.

For the finishing touch, I added a textured gold acrylic paint. (They looked ruined when I added the gold texture bu I still love them ) It was hard to decide how will I accentuate these paintings with gold, since it is one of my trademark, so I decided to just fill the spaces.

These paintings were displayed on our last group exhibit for a cause entitled: Lunas PH, all the proceeds in this exhibit were donated to a cancer patient.
