Unfairism or Racism?
Racism is an issue that needs to stop. Yes, people have different skin colours, cultures, beliefs but you cannot keep on making fun of people and sharing unfairness among others. Everyone has a right to do whatever they want to do and can be whoever they want to be. Do not feel upset because your difference makes you feel special and unique. Racism still exists today.
Racism victims not only suffer depression, they attempt suicide. People who have experienced racism are more likely to develop depression and anxiety. Depression is the number one cause of suicide. Researchers have reported higher levels of anxiety and depression due to children. There is a high suicide rate among Asian – American women between the ages 15-24 according to the U.S Department of Health and Human Service. It is hard to imagine a person suffering from depression and living in a stressful condition. Whatever you do, you are getting judged, discriminated and harassed by others. It’s like you can’t do anything in this world. Racism can hurt others inside their hearts and if it keeps on going then it is considered as bullying and can lead to very serious depression conditions and deep suicidal thoughts.
People who are treated differently from others, they feel left behind, stressed, overwhelmed and UNWANTED. No one in this world should feel this way. You may think it is funny it’s not. God creates us all, no one is perfect and we deserve to treat others equally and live in peace. Every time you do something, you get rejected. It feels like everyone hates you and you can’t live your life because whatever you do, you are being STARED at. Does racism make you feel unwanted? Of course it does. You can’t barely do anything. For example, “Shannon Murdoch” an African American once hopped on a plane (in Melbourne ready to fly back to Brisbane) A couple approached her row to find their seat, took one look at her, they soon stopped to argue with each other. They wanted the plane crew to find another seat because they did not want to sit next to Shannon because she is black. One of them even said, “Well, I’m not going to sit next to her” and the other one said “Well I don’t want to sit next to her either” Eventually throughout the flight, the husband sat next to her and pretended she didn’t even exist. This story makes me devastated. How do you think she felt? UNWANTED right? Don’t be racist, be a friend.
Racism is affecting society. If you’re wondering HOW racism affects society, it just does, Having a constant fear of being verbally or physically attacked, not wanting to go to school, having no trust in anybody except family, headaches, sweating and anger, imagine what life feels like, going through all that pain. Racism not only affect the victim, it affects the audience, for example everyone got emotional over black lives matter over social media and when you say “black lives matter” there will always be somebody who says “all live matters”. I know all lives matter but everyone is suddenly attacking black people, black people are the targets, they are treated differently from white people, so have a quick think about it. Some people are very uncomfortable when they are being judged by their looks. However, they do not stand up, they only walk away pretending nothing happened when actually they feel hurt on what they see but they do not show it. Racism can lead to poor health on society as well as affect your schoolwork, education, sport and social activities and can affect your performances. Tt can literally make the victim scores lower on the tests and performs tasks way slower than others and everyone will be talking behind your back saying “LOL why is she/he so dumb? Why is her/his work always handed in late?” The victim can have a harder time doing things such as finding a job and finding a house. Racism excludes people and make them feel well treated.
We can stop racism. Everyone needs to realise that racism hurts. People judge others by their appearance, that is just wrong. It would not be nice if you were judged whether you are black or white. Some people say that ‘racism’ is not an issue for them. They say that because racism is not happening to them so they don’t know how it feels, however I believe that racism is a major issue that needs to stop immediately, it is damaging people’s lives and I am disgusted of the way people treat one another, it doesn’t matter how they look, let them have a joyful life. If you see racism happening, please stand, don’t be a bystander. If you’re feeling discriminated by others (by your appearance) tell someone, your parents, teacher, friend or anyone. Don’t feel down, unwanted and feeling like you need to end your life because we don’t want to lose people like you in this world and just remember, that there are people who love you so you are not alone. Racism is not FUNNY, it HURTS.
