You probably don't know about the artist behind Decred's cryptographic art puzzles. You might not have any idea what I'm talking about. Decred is a really interesting decentralized digital currency and I discovered its cryptographic puzzles a few weeks ago. My robed muse who loses bets with me, @tuck-fheman first told me about Decred months ago, but I didn't look into it until quite recently.

Here's a still image from of the art puzzles from Decred's website: one that is going on right now, but you only have twenty one hours to figure it out:

So who is behind this Decred art puzzle?

Coin_Artist is among the artists who create these amazing puzzles for Decred.

Her puzzles are amazingly intricate and she's has done many with Bitcoin prizes, valued in the thousands. And here’s one of the puzzles explained by a cryptographer/anarchist named Narcélio Filho: https://medium.com/@narcelio/solving-coin-artists-first-decred-puzzle-11c8113caf39

I found her by accident on Twitter and I was immediately captivated by her innovative spin on Bitcoin, merging art with cryptography to make people go nuts trying to figure out the solutions that are found in her art.

Here's a video that contains an interview of her:

She's one of the most hidden gems in Bitcoin and now Decred right now.

And she is an inspiration to me, too.

Will someone please crack the code behind this Decred cryptographic puzzle??????!!!!!!

It's driving me nuts!

Wait you ddidnt give us any explanatiion here! Now your making ME do the work ;)

seriously tho u didnt give us ANy idea as to HOW you solve these puzzles...like..is there a space to enter in a WORD? are you supposed to guess a NUMBER? or is the private key embedded in the code somehow?

Its like you gave me a math equation without sufficient information to solve!

ok so here is what u have to do after i looked it up,

Its WAY to complex for ANYONE but a level 10 autist!

FIRST you have to fucking know it IS a brain wallet password, a series of wrds that we want, and then u have to go and find the ZIP file HIDDENin the image! If it is an animated gif u need to break down all the frames too!

ANYWAY that ZIP file will be password protected, an to get that password you have t convert the image (or gif frames) into BINARY code and then u will get probly 337 bits and u need to get that number down to 324 and then it will be a perfect square and u can arrage the binary into a matrixx grid and then u have to convert that into a barcode u can then scan and get plaintext that will still be encoded in a Vigenere Cypher and u need to decode with online tool DCODE and then you will need to go get the list of words used for the brain password (series of words) and then u can get the vigenere cypher password into DCODE and finally decode it and have your wallet seed info and BOOM thats yoru reward! NOW this one I just descriibed was the process of that anarchist cypherpunk guy Narcelio Filho u mentioned who solved it, this was his process for solving the animated gif versions....are u sure these are gifs too I think they will ahve either a password protected ZIP file or some sort of coded cypher within the code like drag and drop the image into Notepad! I am sure there will be an encrypted file and maybe you will need to use names of the obejcts in the image to solve it! Lets try that now,
the file is called "U5du9ZRc4xoypJXnUEbCypqzszG1taY_1680x8400" and that looks like a crypto wallet address if i ever saw one! Probobly encrypted!

Im gona drag an drop the image into notepad now, see what shows up....

I am tired now but I will leave it to someone else to try and continue this!

My bet is to look through teh code of the jpeg, look for patterns, maybe

Maybe there is some hidden ascii art code somewhere, like how u can make images out of asci code from real photos,

we should make puzzles like THIS! or this!

yes and now you're smarter than me.
You're hot actually.

theres plenty of millhouse to go around ladies

And so I took this latest puzzle and I opened the jpeg in Notepad, and at the very top within all the jiberish code I found this line " "Screenshot Photoshop 3.0" wtf photoshop 3.0? noone has used that for over 20 years! Must be a hint! the next clue must totaly be something to do with having to have photoshop 3.0 and opening this jpeg in the old program! U might even need a older machine with windows 3 or something just to solve this puzzle! Imagine that!

Here i highlited some stuff that seems like clues, and i see that the numbers or letters are there they are just fragmented and spread apart, I rearranged some stuff, I think u need to make those bttons opaque, and overlay them on top of each other, untill words apear, they seem to be the multi word brainallet key....

i think somoene already solved it! but there will be more.

I know her and have done art for her puzzles. She is the best puzzle maker in the world.

This is too cool!

I will admit it's intriguing

She should come to Steemit.

nice post

Solid post. I was about to post a similair thread. It surprises me people don't do their due dilligence on the coins they invest in.
