Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well!
I had a very passionate conversation with a friend, mathematician and photographer, about what it means to create in isolation. This conversation is still going on.
This question cannot be answered if we ignore more trains of thoughts and question marks.
Can one really isolate oneself and create relevant art or content?
What are one's expectation when creating in isolation?
What could be the output for what has been created?
I'd be really happy to hear what the community can bring to this reflection, in times of quarantine, lockdown and great challenge for the arts, regardless of the medium or discipline.
As for me, these past months invited me to explore new territories and media, platform and material, to experiment and find new ways to channel a very unexpected creative outburst. If you want to see more, head straight to http://joelbenguigui.com/context and http://joelbenguigui.com/lockdown
Looking forward to hearing from you. Cheers from Antwerp,
J.
