Taken at the old Adelaide gaol, this image is of the former gallows used to execute prisoners. A handheld long exposure, I wasnt entirely sure of what I was capturing until after the lights came back on as the shutter blinked closed. Three figures enacting prisoner, executioner, and medical attendant. An eerie place; where many were put to death for crimes as petty as stealing bread, through to extreme crimes like murders and rapes.
