This is the personal logo I created for myself, generated in SoftImage 3D animation modeling software on an SGI Onyx while I was in grad school, studying graphic design, c. 1998. At the time, it was a simple animation, but I captured a still from it to use as my logo.
No. Animation wasn’t really my “thing.” It was something I explored for a bit while in grad school, but really never felt the pull to delve deeper. My focus was graphic design, primarily print media. Though, I did have extensive classes in HTML and Internet design too. In fact, my internship was online magazine publication for the university hospital system.
They were state-of-the-art when I was using them in grad school – brand spanking new in 1997 and 1998, and roughly the size of a small refrigerator! :D

It's so amazing to see that you still have something that you made long time ago.
Do you still do 3D animations?

Hah wow a SGI Onyx, I saw those systems around a office I worked at in the early 2000s. They were pretty old by then but looked super cool.
Like it.
