The GOP could bank on losing four additional seats in New York, and could lose as many as six.
Locally, this would put Tioga, Schuyler and Chemung County in something like a Trump +20 district. Both Tompkins and Cortland are in something like a Biden+20 district. Broome appears to be in a district that’s maybe Biden +4. Those are all rough estimates on my part.
This would pretty much be the end of competitive elections in Tioga County, as the state senate and assembly districts are already very deeply Republican. This would also make the Congressional seat deeply Republican, and with all of the local races deeply Republican and all of the statewide races so deeply Democrat, it sort of puts a damper on participation. But it also creates an opportunity to concentrate on electing the type of Republican that people actually want.
