I mentioned before that I’ve been interested in Astrology for a long time. I even had my first reading on my 13th birthday. In my studies, I have been working through Astrology for Yourself a Workbook for Personal Transformation by Douglas Bloch & Demetra George. This book has been recommended to me by at least three different people. I am going very slowly and methodically through this book.

Back Cover of the Book: “Absolute novices who have discovered this book rave about its clarity, comprehensiveness, and above all, effectiveness. Astrology for Yourself introduces you to the language, art, and science of astrology by investigating the subject you know best - you. This book contains a unique, programmed-learning text that walks you through a step-by-step series of simple exercises and journal entries so that by the time you’re done with the book, you’ll have your own, complete interpretation of your birth chart, and you’ll understand why the astrological symbolism means what it means. Aside from providing a wealth of knowledge about your birth chart (and therefore yourself), Astrology for Yourself promotes personal growth and change in your life. By filling out the workbook, you will gain one or more of the following benefits:
A basic understanding of your talents, abilities, and strengths, and how you can best express them in your life;
An overall understanding of your life’s meaning and purpose;
Insights into your life’s challenges - and how you can transform them into opportunities;
A deep and more comprehensive understanding of a variety of important dimensions of your life, such as: career and vocational needs; relationship needs; health; finances; child-rearing; your major life cycles, when they will occur, and what they mean.
No matter what your level of astrological interest or experience, Astrology for Yourself offers an innovative approach to personal growth that promises to transform the quality of your life.

I’m only up to Chapter 3 of this book but I felt the need to share it with you all as this really is an amazing book. It is walking you through getting the fundamentals before moving on to the next section. It also talks not only about the planets of your natal chart but also to some of the newer asteroids. If you are would like to learn more about how you see yourself and understand your natal birth chart this is for you.

There are some amazing breakdowns of the information so that you actually learn it. The copy I own is a second printing of this book that came out in 2006. Though I know that it has been printed multiple times. If you get an older copy it still will help you just as much as the current one. There was something about today that I felt that I needed to share this with you all. I know that I haven’t finished going through this myself but I am working through it. It has been a great journey so far.

If you are want to learn Astrology this is a great starting point. It gives you plenty of great information. I hope that it helps you on your own journey.

Very interesting book!! I have always been interested in astrology since I was kid because of the Greek mythology. Learning about constellations like the Great Bear or Pegasus was always super interesting to me. In fact I used to watch an anime called "Saint Seiya" that has a lot of reference to the Greek mythology as well. I don't personally believe in the influence of astrology on our birth, but it is something that may be I do not know enough about and the book that you are describing sounds like a very good start for me to educate myself furthermore.

Thank you!

You're very welcome. It's one really a great starting point. It also has a bit of psychology to it as it goes into how you look at yourself. Such as having you pick keywords that resonate with you. I think it's great for learning as well as self-analysis.
