Today 8/16/2018 is a very important day in my life as one of the legends of Indian Politics have taken his last breath.
The reason I am writing this post because I followed him while growing up in my teens. I was amazed by his speeches that were not only very entertaining but were full of values. I remember those days cable TV was just entering Indian middle-class household and we use to sit and hear his speeches in Doordarshan and other news media outlet.
In May 1996 when his Party BJP came in power and stayed for 13 days and lost the majority in Assembly whole nation was sad, I was unhappy not because I support any party but I felt like India lost the opportunity to grow in his leadership.
Luckily in next election, he won again and became prime minister for 5 years between 1998-2004.
To his accomplishment, I remember it was a proud day when India conducted its Nuclear tests and entered the nuclear club.
India did a wonderful economic and social improvement during his tenure. I always admired his simplicity, focus, and leadership.
India will always miss you Atal jee and I will always remember the words from your Poem.
"Kal kal karte karte,
Aaj haath se nikale saare,
Bhoot bhavishyat ki chinta mein,
Vartamaan ki baazi hare."
This mean don't worry about Future and past, live now in this moment.
