Brit photographed single atom

A single strontium atom is held approximately in the electric field between two electrodes. It glows slightly bluish-purple. David Nadlinger was able to introduce this moment to Oxford University with his camera. His photo "Single Atom in an Ion Trap" is the day the Engineering and Natural Sciences Council (EPSRC) received the grand prize of its National Science Photo Contest.
