The women say they prefer as character traits friendliness and respect, but a new study found that actually all about the appearance of the man. Especially when choosing women choose men who are physically attractive before those who have good character traits.
Younger women pay little attention to whether the man could be trusted, whether they respect and that they are honest. They are only interested in whether they are fit and look good.
Older women pay attention to personal characteristics of men, but only when choosing between attractive men.
The results of the study came after a study of 80 women between 15 and 29 years of age.
They they were shown pictures of men with varying attractiveness. Each picture was accompanied by three personal profiles with varying zhelaemost.
The results showed that the personality of the man plays a very small role when men were not attractive.
"Our finding is that a minimum level of physical attractiveness is needed for women and their mothers," said Madeline Fyuzher, the lead author of the study.
Young women were more selective when choosing among men, but their mothers have assessed more than attractive men as suitable for their daughters.
"It can say that unattractiveness is less acceptable for women than for their mothers."
"It can also mean that women and their mothers may have different ideas about what constitutes a minimally acceptable level of physical attractiveness, mothers apply less stringent standards than their daughters."
