The “Moon Shoe” shoes represented the most important lot of the auction of sports shoes made by Sotheby’s in New York. This model was designed by Bill Bowerman, co-founder of the company and athletic trainer at the 1972 Olympic Games.

These sneakers were handmade and have never been worn. According to the auction house, the highest price that sport shoes had reached was $ 190,373, which they paid for autographed Converse sneakers and used by Michael Jordan in an Olympic basketball final in 1984.
