Dozens of students of Malikussaleh University (Unimal) North Aceh who are members of Bandan Student Executive (BEM) Faculty of Law, Bandan Student Executive (BEM) Faculty of Economics and Student Solidarity for the People (SMUR), held hearings with the Government of North Aceh Regency on Thursday January 11, 2018 at around 10:20 pm.
The event, which took place at the office of the Regent of North Aceh, addressed the question of proposing the procurement of three official cars worth Rp.3.3 billion in the draft General Policy of Budget and Budgetary Priorities and Budget Ceiling (KUA PPAS TA) 2018.
Students assess the procurement of cars is not rational when viewed from the current condition of North Aceh regency, because the area is still owed worth Rp.220 billion.
"We consider the procurement of official cars is not rational, so there should be steps that must be taken by North Aceh regency," said Rizqi Rahmatullah as Chairman of Student Solidarity for Students Advocacy (SMUR), Thursday, January 11, 2018.
He added that the students keep an eye on any decisions issued by the North Aceh regency.
However, in the hearing led by Vice Regent of North Aceh, Fauzi Yusuf alias Sidom Peng, who was accompanied by Setdakab Aceh Utara, Abdul Aziz, resulted in a mutual agreement at the request of the student.
