We believe that augmented reality(https://www.brsoftech.com/augmented-reality-app-development.html )will transform a wide range of businesses in the future years, but one area where it is already having an impact is commerce. And that's no wonder because AR commerce efficiently eliminates one of the most significant drawbacks of internet shopping: the inability to experience anything before purchasing it.

Today, people use augmented reality to digitally try on anything from cosmetics, sunglasses, and hats to visualizing what virtual appliances, refrigerators, and furniture would look like in their own houses. It's a big shift in how brands and merchants interact with customers to help them make more confident purchase decisions.

Facebook is collaborating closely with Vertebrae as part of our own AR commerce plans to allow 3D and AR product experiences for businesses and retailers across Facebook's family of applications, beginning with AR advertisements on Facebook. We recently co-hosted a panel discussion with luxury brand Coach and home improvement store Lowe's, who highlighted their AR commerce efforts, in collaboration with Vertebrae.

We wanted to offer four key points from this discussion that may assist businesses and retailers in launching their own AR commerce projects:

Wait, take a pause: What exactly is augmented reality commerce?

AR commerce is the usage of 3D product models throughout the purchasing process, with the possibility to examine a product in real life at accurate size and scale via augmented reality. As a consequence, consumers have higher trust in both the goods and the merchant as a result of a more participatory, informed purchasing experience. There are multiple opportunities for AR commerce, including social, web-based, search, and in-app solutions, and we're seeing instances of these from brands and merchants of all sizes.

Coach designed an ad experience that allowed consumers to visually try on Coach sunglasses using augmented reality, with the opportunity to purchase — all right from the ad — to activate AR advertisements on Facebook. Coach reported a considerable increase in ad recall and buy intent at the end of the campaign, and it is now intending to investigate other AR commerce efforts.

Following Steps
We're thrilled about what the future of augmented reality commerce implies for the future of shopping as we know it. For companies, it's an opportunity to connect with customers on a deeper level by making vital product information available in real, engaging ways. It boosts customer confidence and shortens the route to purchase, allowing them to make better-informed decisions more rapidly.

We look forward to bridging the gap between in-store and physical product experiences — one AR impact at a time — as we continue to roll out AR commerce projects throughout Facebook's family of applications.
