Last week we went to Melbourne.
On our trip we stopped at some nice places, one of these places was Holbrook.
It is a nice rural town, about 500km south from Sydney.
I found that the town was called Germanton but changed its name during World War One to Holbrook in honour of Lt. Norman Douglas Holbrook who was commander of a submarine.
That is why in Holbrook there is a submarine and parts of submarines to see.
My children were delighted with the submarines, this was the first time any of us had seen a real submarine and been inside a real submarine. It was an interesting experience. So far from the sea!
Instead of talking about it, here are some photos from our visit to Holbrook;
Now I have come home and can sit and type posts again, I asked my husband to write a post for me, I sent him pictures and information, but he was too lazy. Now I can do it.
I will have more posts and photos from our trip to Melbourne, this was as you see a very interesting place to see and visit.
Thank you for reading.
We - especially children - need reminders of the past like that.

Yes, they liked it, to them it was all interesting and new. Maybe when they grow up they will understand.
