Sunayana Arora | Entrepreneur

When she joined her husband’s business in 2009, Sunayana Arora—who was up until then a wealth manager in Citibank, India, and then a financial planner at Westpac in Australia—knew there would be sleepless nights, no holidays, and very little family time.

“It also helped that my family has been rooted in business for generations. So it has taught me to think, express, work and strive harder and smarter for growing our business in Australia,” she says.

Armed with a marketing and finance background with the obsession of knowing and following world varied cuisines and a love for cooking/creating food, joining her husband’s company Usha Food Imports seemed to be a natural step up after start years of juggling with the full-time commitment of a corporate career along with working late nights and weekends for the business. “It was not an easy decision, to leave the security of a promising job and putting all your savings and efforts into a business. But I’m glad I did,” says Sunayana.
