The future of the automobile

The future of the existing range of automobiles will likely change since more countries have decided to ban fossil fuelled cars. This will only lead to the development of electric and alternative fuel cars such those using hydrogen or water. Tesla founder Elon Musk was absolutely right about this when he introduced Tesla. While major car companies were laughing at him thinking that Elon Musk was out of his mind, little did they realise that Elon Musk was on to something much bigger. The entire face of the automotive world was about to change. Those who don't move with this change will eventually close down or be completely left behind.
Despite facing the initial challenges Tesla has made a name for itself and the major car companies cannot afford to laugh at Tesla. The Tesla model S is so far ahead of the competition it scares them. Some car companies have gone so far as to put down Tesla saying that they have better cars coming out soon but these statements are purely out of jealousy since no car company until today have a model that can offer what the Tesla has and their so called up coming model is still at least a year away from launching. By that time Tesla's model S has been in the market for over 5 years.
Tesla also took the initiative on the self driving function which was a big gamble knowing that there will be bugs in the system and could result in a number of fatal accidents. True enough this happened but no other car company had the courage to even come close. Pioneering any technology that is revolutionary is never easy and bugs and problems will appear and that's how the engineers can develop a solution. During the development of any technology no one can anticipate all possible problems until it is implemented and used in real life. Simulations can only show so much but many external factors that are unaccounted for will come into play.
For anyone who is looking to invest in automotive company stocks I would bet my money on Tesla and Porsche.
