Solution 1. Install AV1 Video Extension.
. Open Microsoft Store and search for AV1 Video Extension.
. Install it.

That's all. Next time, when you open an AV1 video online, Windows 10 is able to playback the online AV1 video without any further steps.

Solution 2: Convert AV1 to HEVC or H264 with better compatibility.
For downloaded AV1 videos saved on your computer, you're suggested to decode AV1 to HEVC or H264 with much better compatibility. To reach this goal, a video converter is a must. WinX Video Converter (https://www.winxdvd.com/video-converter/) lets you free load AV1 video with whatever resolution, 8K, 4K, 2K, 1080p and bulk convert AV1 videos to H265, H264, MPEG-4, MP4, MOV, AVI, FLV, etc. with 420+ preset profiles supported. Afterwards, you can free playback AV1 video anywhere anytime without compatibility issue.
