3 September 1989, Varig Boeing 737's crew was taking off in the late afternoon for a routine flight to Belém. During the flight, the pilots got lost.
Desperate attempts to find the right course were unsuccessful and aircraft ran out of fuel. 737 had to make an emergency landing in the Amazon jungle. It took two days to find the aircraft.
