Avoiding Burnout

Yesterday we talked about what to do if you're feeling overwhelmed.

We talked about picking 1 thing to focus on for the day or for the week to improve your business or personal life.

The reason I like this idea, instead of taking a few days or a week off (not that there is anything wrong with that) is that you can maintain some momentum.

In my case, if I take a few days off, I lose momentum and it is really hard for me to get back in my groove. I can easily adapt new routines, which is great. I also can easily fall out of routines, which is not so great.

For me, it is like taking a slow dance after some intense house music. You can get a breather but you are still warmed up to dance when the next intense track plays. If you sit out a bit you get all cold and stiff and then it's hard to catch the beat.

I have nothing against time off, at all. Especially if you are more than a little overwhelmed. Whatever you have to do to avoid burnout is key!

My normal routine consists of 6 days on 1 day off. On my off day I still do some light work to keep myself in the groove.

Time off is absolutely necessary sometimes. The key here is to know yourself. Each and every person is different.
