The Holy Bible explains to us that the spiritual awakening, or inner enlightenment, is an inalienable grace or charism, we cannot look back once we achieve the true life, the eternal happiness, and the vision of God, false conversions should be avoided, like the conversion of Simon the sorcerer (Acts 8:9-20): "For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come—and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance", Hebrews 6:4-6.
Repentance according to the spirit can only occur once in the human being and represents the transformation of the human being towards integrity, the Gnosis: "Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death", 2 Corinthians 7:10.
Jesus during the night explains to the doctor of the law Nicodemus, the new birth of the water and the spirit associated with the inner enlightenment: "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the Kingdom of God unless they are born again", John 3:3. To see the Kingdom of God is to experience beatitude with the eyes of God.
The Bible tells us about experiencing the things of heaven, that is, entering the heavenly life, the life of the angels; this refers to the perfection of the contemplative life, we abandon the pleasures associated with the body, to enter into an ineffable joy, which is purely intellectual: "The eternal happiness consists in the vision of God", Thomas Aquinas. This is the true conversion that God wants.
