Using Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security features

in aws •  3 years ago

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a comprehensive and ever-changing cloud computing platform offered by Amazon. It offers infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and bundled software as a service (SaaS).

Amazon Web Services offers services from dozens of data centers located in various availability zones (AZs) throughout the world. An AZ is a geographically close collection of AZs connected by low-latency network links, whereas a region is a collection of AZs connected by low-latency network links. AWS customers can spin up virtual machines (VMs) and duplicate data across AZs to create a highly dependable architecture that is immune to individual server or data center outages.

AWS offers managed database services via its Amazon Relational Database Service, which includes choices for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and Amazon Aurora, a proprietary high-performance database. AWS provides managed NoSQL databases via Amazon DynamoDB.

As in-memory data caches for real-time applications, AWS customers can use Amazon ElastiCache and DynamoDB Accelerator. Amazon Redshift provides a data warehouse, which allows data analysts to do business intelligence activities more easily.
