Mostly we don’t the concept of ulcerative colitis as in ancient time it was a rare disease. But with the growing era or scenario as the development of diseases increases ulcerative colitis is commonly found. People that are dealing with this disease face problem in their daily routine. As when it flares up an unbearable condition occurs.
In ulcerative colitis, the ulcers formation take place in the intestines that cause inflammation. The patients with ulcerative colitis deal with signs and symptoms such as loose stools, abdominal pain, abdominal cramps, hyperacidity, weight loss, bleeding in stools, presence of pus and mucus in the stools, indigestion, loss of appetite, general weakness, etc. There are many ways totreat ulcerative colitis naturally . Natural herbs act on the root cause and work in a good manner on ulcerative colitis patients.
So for avoiding flares of ulcerative colitis do some simple ways mentioned below in detail:
1) Fennel Seeds: It is a well-known herb present in nature. The carminative and digestive properties of this herb prevent and treat the flare of ulcerative colitis naturally. So take a teaspoonful of fennel seeds in a glass of water. Boil it until remaining half glass. Strain the mixture, let it cool down & drink once or twice daily. It will keep your digestion proper. You can also chew its seeds as it is good for health.
2) Coriander: This is another herb for ulcerative colitis patients. Coriander herb shows antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, digestive, & carminative properties. You can take a few leaves of coriander to prepare its juice and take a teaspoonful daily. The seeds are also beneficial. You can soak a teaspoonful of coriander seeds in a glass of water overnight. Early in the morning boil the water until getting a half glass. Strain the mixture, let it cool down, & drink this on an empty stomach for abdominal cramps, gastric problem, & abdominal pain.
3) Fenugreek: Fenugreek is antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, digestive, immuno-modulator in nature. It removes toxins and reduces inflammation. So you can include this in your diet. Take a teaspoonful of fenugreek seeds and soak it in a glass of water overnight. Early in the morning boil it until remaining half glass. Filter the mixture, let it cool down and drink this.
4) Cumin: Cumin is also a good and effective herb for reducing the flares of ulcerative colitis. It is digestive, coolant, carminative herb that reduces inflammation of the intestines. The antioxidant nature of this helps in detoxification of the intestines. Take seeds of cumin roast it. Make a powder of this and eat a teaspoonful of it with normal water once or twice daily. A Decoction of this herb is also beneficial for health. So always prepare a fresh decoction and drink it once daily.
5) Aloe vera: The herb Aloe vera shows antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, immuno-modulator, digestive properties. These properties help in overall detoxification of the body. It reduces inflammation of the intestines. Take the fresh pulp of aloe vera as it naturally deals with the flares of ulcerative colitis. Drinking fresh juice of aloe vera is good for overall health.
6) Rose: Rose is also good for ulcerative colitis patients. The rose flower petals juice calms down the inflammation of the intestines. Prepare fresh juice of rose petal juices and take a teaspoonful once daily. Gulukand prepared from roses is also effective. Have a teaspoonful once or twice.
7) Marigold flower: The flowers of marigold helps in reducing bleeding related to ulcerative colitis patients. Fresh juice of marigold flower reduces inflammation of the intestines. Abdominal cramps are treated naturally with it.
8) Carrot: Carrots are a good source of fiber, vitamins, and nutrients that provides proper nutrition to the body. It increases the metabolism of the body and builds up a strong immune system. Hence drinking the juice of carrot or including in your diet is good for ulcerative colitis patients. As it reduces the inflammation of the colon and reduces flare up condition in ulcerative colitis.
9) Pomegranate: This herb reduces the inflammation of the intestines and improves digestion. The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant nature of this herb reduces inflammation and remove all toxins that are accumulated in an ulcerative colitis patients. So drink the juice of pomegranate juice freshly prepared at home. As it treats and prevent the flare up condition of a ulcerative colitis patients. Avoid eating its fruit as it can cause irritation in the ulcers that are present in the intestines. So instead of eating always prefer it in juice form made at home.
10) Bottle Gourd: The fresh juice of bottle gourd is beneficial in acidity, indigestion, ulcers, etc. Apart from this the juice of this vegetable is rich in iron, vitamin B and C. So it is very a good and effective way for preventing and treating ulcerative colitis. Drink half a cup of freshly prepared bottle gourd juice. Rest you can use for cooking purpose in your cuisine. You can also take it in soup form as it is equally beneficial.
Apart from these home remedies also make some changes in your diet and lifestyle. So drink plenty of water, include fresh fruit juices in daily routine, avoid stale and fast food items, drink green coconut water for avoiding general weakness in the body, Always try to eat homemade food. Have a healthy lifestyle that makes you fit and fine. Stay away from stress and anxiety by doing some meditation and yoga practices. Avoid spicy food items as it flares the ulcerative colitis. You can prefer boiled rice, yellow lentils, pink lentils, bottle gourd, ridge gourd, pumpkin, in your diet. As this diet is light and easy to digest. Avoid non-vegetarian diet but you can take boiled egg white twice or thrice in a week.
Early in the morning on an empty stomach you can drink a juice freshly prepared at home with herbs such as coriander, bottle gourd, spinach, etc. Fruit & vegetable juices like pomegranate, apple, beetroot and carrot are also good for health. If you are facing excessive loose stool problem than you can eat as much banana as you can. Use these simple healthy tips in your diet.
