Do parents think their babies are cute? --- Truthfully.

I've never had a baby, a kid, a child, a lil fetus. Neva.

I always see new parents (mostly very young people) gawking at their children as if they are so much cuter than all of the other babies.

Now, first of all, I completely understand the whole, it is your baby thing. What I don't get is that every new parent seems to think that their child is top shelf beautiful. Once the child grows up and becomes a teenager, parents tend to accept their offspring as being a 1 through 10 on the societal scale of physical attraction. SO why do babies get off the hook?

OF COURSE! IT IS A BAAABYYY!!!! DUH!

yes I know, a baby.

So does this mean that a parent only truly loves their child until they aren't babies anymore? Obviously not, so WHY DO ALL PARENTS THINK THAT THEIR BABY IS CUTE WHEN IT IS NOT (always).

Comment #1: "I don't think parents know when their babies are ugly. But then again every person has their own sense of what is ugly or beautiful, it's just preference!" --- CRAP, shut up, wow, politically correct, nice answer but no thanks.

Comment #4: "My oldest daughter was not the cutest as a newborn. I mean she was beautiful because I was her mother but she looked sorta like popeye. Her head was mishapen from being in the birth canal so long and she kinda looked like a little old man. I wonder if someone will jump on me for admitting this!" --- Yea, a truth at last....
