1950's

  1. The boater waterproof diaper was invented. It was a diaper cover made out of nylon parachute cloth and it fastened with snaps. Her shower curtain was her inspiration.
  2. The first pre-fold diaper was invented by Lorraine Hellerman, wife of Carl Hellerman, owner of Dy-dee diaper service.
  3. The Safe-T Di-dee diaper came out in 1950 was the first fitted diaper, it was very popular
  4. 1959 - Riegel Textile corp their "easiest diaper ever" called Presto Chango, this diaper used VELCRO and was even easier than the disposables that still used pins!
