Save baby birds
If you come across a baby bird that appears to be in distress or in need of help, here are some steps you can take to try to save it:

Assess the situation: If the baby bird is in immediate danger, such as on a busy road or in the path of a predator, move it to a safer location nearby. Otherwise, observe the bird from a distance for a little while to see if its parents return. Many baby birds are perfectly fine and don't need any intervention.

Don't touch the bird unless necessary: If you must handle the bird, make sure your hands are clean and dry, and use a towel or gloves to avoid transmitting any bacteria or diseases to the bird. Be gentle and avoid squeezing or applying pressure to the bird.

Try to reunite the bird with its parents: If the bird is a nestling (i.e. featherless or with only a few feathers), try to place it back in its nest if you can find it. If you can't find the nest, you can make a makeshift nest out of a small box lined with soft material and attach it to a nearby tree or bush. Watch from a distance to see if the parents return to care for the bird.

Call a wildlife rehabilitator: If the bird is injured or if you can't reunite it with its parents, contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator in your area. They have the expertise and resources to care for the bird and give it the best chance of survival.

Remember, it's important to avoid interfering with wildlife as much as possible, so always assess the situation carefully before taking action. Also, keep in mind that in some cases, it's best to let nature take its course rather than trying to intervene.
