BadBitcoin.org is a website dedicated to revealing Scams, Fake and Bad websites, Phishing attempts and other things you would want to avoid in the crypto currency world. Even though the name contains Bitcoin it does not only cover the bad actors in the Bitcoin scene, but also in other popular crypto currencies such as Litecoin, Ethereum and so on. The goal fo the project is to see Bitcoin & The Blockchain become a successful evolution in the way we trade, bank and exchange contracts and not let a load of scammers and cheap thieves endanger this movement.

The website compiles the so called Badlist of websites that includes all of the confirmed or highly likely scams out there. The list includes the website address and a short description about the concern or the reason it was included in the Badlist as well as when it was added. In the list you can quickly check if a website should make you concerned by searching for the respective URL.

Do note however that even though the list is quick big already and includes a lot of websites, there are new scams out there to get you appearing every day, so it may not include everything. So the best thing is if you are concerned about the legitimacy of a crypto related website is to avoid it, even if it is not found it that list.

A more recent feature on the website is the so called Safelist of various crypto related websites that are confirmed to be safe and trustworthy. The list is much shorter as you may guess and it probably does not include many of the safe websites yet. If you are operating a crypto-related website yourself you may Verify your Site at Badbitcoin, so that it gets cleared of any suspicion. Users are also encouraged to report any scam or potential dangerous crypto websites they find as well.

The Badlist currently does not include any STEEM-related websites, but as Steem and Steemit continue to gain popularity it is very likely that some bad players in the crypto world would want to exploit the popularity and try to scam users... there have been a few reports of such practices here on steemit.com already. So if you stumble anything like that related to Steem or Steemit.com feel free to report it so that it gets included in the Badlist and help other users avoid it.
