Bananas in Blue Bags. WHY?

in bananas •  7 years ago

On our trip to the Caribbean for the first time, I saw bananas being grown commercially. It was curious to me to see the bananas in blue bags. I found out the reason for the blue bags and they are to help the bananas ripen along with protection from sunburn and hungry birds and critters that can damage the bananas as they mature.

I also discovered that bananas are a vegetable while green and when they are yellow are a fruit. Go figure.
