We went to the bank this morning to pay our rent . We opened an account at the same bank as our landlord, as the bank no longer would let us deposit our rent to our landlord account as we had for almost two years. Now, they say , no deposit into the account unless you bank there. So, we opened an account at the same bank so as to make it easier and to not have to pay a wire fee each month. Our landlord lives an hour away. Ok, everything is groovy, right? Well, not so much.
This morning , March 5, we go to pay our rent to our landlord by making a deposit from our account to our landlord account. We go into the bank , long line, but we go in . As we are standing in line, a bank person is asking everyone what they needed to do at the bank. My wife answers that she is going to pay our rent . The bank person says that we need to pay it thru our phone on their app. We say that we do not use the app. Then , the banking person says that it would be easier to do it thru the app. We said no thank you, we will wait. We are in line and a second bank person comes up to the line of people with the same question of what is needed to be done each person. Again , we tell this person we tell bank person we are paying rent. The banker person then asks us where our landlord lives, we say Miami. We then are asked how long our landlord has had their account at the bank. We tell them , we do not know. Again the talk of the app comes up. Remember, this is the second person to ask us in the line what we needed to do, and the second person was asking about our landlord account and how long it was opened. Crazy.
The whole intent is to keep us out of the branch , use the phone app, and they have made it a point to my wife that she needs to use the phone app. I realize that the bank wants to not deal with live people but rather thru digital electronics. So goes customer service and satisfaction. The bank is not wanting to deal with real people and now they seem to be profiling customers by asking Gestapo like questions as if we do not know what they are doing . As usual, banks bailed out by the GOV are really GOV banks and are acting typical GOV employees or goons, whatever you use to describe them. To be asked why we were in the bank today , what service we needed, we are told to use the app on our phone. This has now happened 3 times, in the last 3 months. The bank employees are doing away with their own jobs by pushing the GOV protocol of profiling customers. There are two employees , one for commercial and one for REGULAR depositors. But, there are two employees, goons, working the LONG line of customers , asking them what they need to do at the bank. Maybe, one or both could maybe open a new window? This is typical of gov mentality. Use as many middle managers as working tellers, instead of helping customers. The push to the using of phone apps, which is not secure, and telling human beings in essence to not come inside or be subject to long lines. Kinda like TSA at the airport. Two people scanning , two frisking travelers, and six standing around , observing. People can deposit outside at the ATM but cannot make a transfer.
We are watching the death of human to human contact in basic human financial transactions. This is intentional. We wonder where the jobs go. We wonder how these bailed banks who are always being penalized and paying fines allowed to grow without restraint as the fines are being used to skim more from them, a form of tax penalty. The banks are under fed rules and have to comply and compliance is forced by the fines. This is from the bailout. The bank is Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Chase, and others. It will get worse unless we vote with our feet and go to the local , smaller bank which is not owned by these monsters who are bound and hobbled by the GOV. They took the bailout and now they are subjects of the regime. A regime that is marching toward subjecting us to this abusive behavior in the lobby. They want us to use the app, or go outside to the ATM and let all outside watch us and many are robbed. So , I am not a banker , and I am not an investor in any small, local banks. I am a disgusted American who is tired of seeing this post bailout world of digital banking . Impersonal, unsafe, and offensive , and so goes the days of going to the bank, seeing friends, asking questions but now we are being asked why we are there. It is a crazy world.
