A new EU food law came into force on 1 January, authorising and facilitating the marketing of certain unusual kitchen products. They are the so-called "Novel Food" and yes, they are, among others, exactly what you're thinking: bugs.
What will they taste like? We've had our mouths watered and our eyes chiribitas with the news, so we've decided to look for some restaurants in which to taste so delicate? delicacy. They are still few, but enough to account for the protein load that experts claim.
It seems that size matters and the "gross" factor is considerable. Little by little. A little worm, a cricket. In Asia and Latin America they are first class delicacies and here, even in Madrid or Barcelona, we begin to see them. Bon appétit!
Bugalicious, Amsterdam
A travelling insectivorous proposal in the Netherlands. Patricia Stevens is its owner, a true lover of nature and nutrition, convinced that the bugs with the food of the future and that they can help build a more sustainable world. It offers catering services, but the best thing is when you take out your buggie, which can be hired through its website, and takes you to various events, including some of the best music festivals. To compensate for alcohol levels, nothing beats cricket chips.
Grub kitchen (gales, reino unido)
In France, the cradle of culinary refinement, they also begin to bet on bugs. It is famous this bar in the Parisian quarter of Montmartre, a lively music bar with a spectacular menu of beers that are accompanied by crispy crickets and worms (of the real ones).
