Tampa Bay has been doing pretty good this season, and my hometown Twins are on a roll, too! Odorizzi has been on fire despite the loss to the Royals last week, and I look forward to seeing how he does tonight.
I don't know a whole lot about Charlie Morton, but that .118 avg that he's holding opponents to? That's going to make things difficult for the Twins. I'm going to make a few small predictions here:
Minnesota will struggle tonight
This series is probably going to be one of the hardest the Twins have seen in a while. They may lose tonight's game, but the rest of the series will turn out in Minnesota's favor.
This will be a very low scoring game
Both pitchers are very, very good. I've seen Odorizzi in earlier games this season, and his biggest drawback is going to be how many runs he allows. Those 3 runs allowed in his game against Kansas City are doing him no favors, but he's got the skills to shut down the bats. Given MLB's take on Morton, The Twins bats will likely also struggle to put runs on the board. That said, batters are hitting balls out of the park at Target Field in record numbers this year. It's like a whiffle ball park or something! If I had to take a guess, I don't think either team is going to score more than 3 or 4 runs tonight.
