Crypto for the Average: Heard of the BAT coin?

in bat •  6 years ago

I'm not pumping it, just explaining. Though it's another great example of how blockchain technology is changing how we do things.

In short:

  • this month testing begins concerning letting participants get paid for watching advertisements instead of them blocking ads
  • people will be paid in BAT coins (basic attention token), and the coins can either be used to cash out on an exchange or to purchase things (like shows, premium channels, etc)
  • the idea is non-intrusive because the info concerning what advertisements you watch will be stored on your computer, and WON'T be subject to algorithms used by large companies to track your likes and dislikes
  • participants will be paid 70% of the ad cost
  • everything will be done on the Brave browser/network.

So....Pretty cool, especially the non-intrusive part.
