Richard Hatch, who was best known for his row as Apollo on the original Battlestar Galactica, died Tuesday at the age of 71.
I got a chance to see him in person on a couple of different occasions at MegaCon in Orlando, Florida. He was the nicest and most down to earth guy you could imagine and I'm sure he will be greatly missed by those who knew him best.
The first time I saw him was at a panel he was doing on acting almost seven years ago:

The next time I saw him was also at MegaCon as part of a Battlestar Galactica panel:
Wow...same age as me! Wasn't he in the old TV mini-series, Rich Man-Poor Man?

I'm not familiar with that one and didn't see a credit for him on IMDB. Other than Battlestar Galactica he's mostly had starring roles in a bunch of TV series and movies I've never heard of and guest roles in a bunch of TV series I have heard of. Here's his complete filmography according to IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0368745/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1
I didn't realize he was 71. I would have guessed he was quite a bit younger but Battlestar Galactica was like 40 years ago...
