Everyone wants to be happy. And they should be. Not only is life a lot easier to deal with when you have a positive outlook on it but it is also better for your overall health and well being if you can spend more time feeling good. Many people think that happiness is a long term goal. They’ll be happy when they find Mr. or Ms. Right, or when they finally get that job/car/house they are hoping for. But it doesn’t, and it shouldn’t, have to be that way. Spending every day in a better mood should be the real goal. However, that can seem like it is easier said than done when you wake up feeling blue and facing a tough day ahead. But it really is possible at any given time of the day (or night) if you are just willing to focus and give it a try. Don’t believe us? Here are 30 things you can do at almost any time that will give you a happiness boost right away.

  1. Write down three things you are grateful for.
  2. Email, call or text a friend you haven’t talked to in a while
  3. Buy yourself some new music for your smart phone/music player
  4. Take a power nap (20 minutes should do it)
  5. Deactivate your Facebook account for a day (FB can be more of a downer than you think)
  6. Re-read a favorite book from your childhood
  7. Re-watch a favorite movie you haven’t seen in years
  8. Take a walk in the park, or even just down the street
