WATCH OUT FOR INSTRUCTIONS
Bible in one year: Judges 12-17
Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.(Amos 3:7)
One of the requirements for getting answers to prayers is that while you pray, your spiritual eyes must be open. In order to see God at work around you or how He will guide you, you must be on the lookout. Expectation is what gives birth to every manifestation you see.
Prayer is not a monologue. It is a two-way communication channel between you and our heavenly father. Whenever I am praying, meditating, studying God's word or even going to bed, I always have my pen and journal near me to write down whatever the Holy Spirit reveals to me. Spiritual things are costly in price yet they are very slippery.
In training his disciples on how to survive the end times, Jesus instructed them to "Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is."(Mark 13:33). As an intercessor, you should apply the principle of "Watchfulness" as you anticipate heaven's response to your petition, supplication or intercession.
A notable preacher once said that God gave you two eyes so that when you pray with one eye closed, the other eye can be open to see the answers to your prayers. God even calls intercessors Watchmen that never hold their peace day or night, Isa 62:6-7.
Another channel for receiving spiritual instructions is from your spiritual ears. After a season of prayer, you must listen for divine instructions from the Holy Spirit. Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it," Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.(Isaiah 30:21)
What do you do when like Elijah when your brook (provision, resources, etc) dries up? For Elijah, he waited patiently for God's instruction and was guided to Zarephath where God had commanded a widow to provide for him. The key to divine protection and to unlock God's blessings is taking heed to His instructions.
Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea. Your descendants also would have been like the sand, And the offspring of your body like the grains of sand; His name would not have been cut off Nor destroyed from before Me."(Isaiah 48:18-19)
PRAYER:
Let my eyes be open to see what you will say to me and may my ears hearken to divine instructions from above. Let every wax that prevented me from hearing from the Lord melt away. Heavenly father, speak to me in clear terms. Instruct my spirit and grant me sensitivity to know what you are doing in Jesus name!
