Outside of North and South Carolina, one would have a hard time explaining what beach music is and what it is all about. The bands and artists that consider themselves "Beach Music" perform at festivals and events in surrounding states. The majority of the festivals, clubs, and venues that feature beach music are probably located in the southeastern part of NC and northeastern part of South Carolina. There are may different opinions on how it got started and what is considered beach music. Some consider it a genre.. There are some in the industry that simply describe it as a lifestyle.
One of the top Beach Music Bands of all time is the Band of Oz.
The Band of Oz recently celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2017 and had a huge celebration in North Myrtle Beach at the World Famous Spanish Galleon.
