Aloha! My name is Sophia.

On my way to Makapu'u lighthouse, I decided to stop by Sandy Beach since it's on the way. Sandy Beach is a public beach that is known for it's large shore breaks and very strong waves. It is a bodyboarders paradise. Of course, it also offers great photo opportunities for on-lookers and sun-worshippers, alike.

On Kalanianaoli highway; coming from Waikiki towards Hawaii Kai town, it is less than a mile down south from Haunama Bay and Koko Crater, as seen here on this photo below.

It's not unusual to find red flags and warning signs as caution of strong current. Inexperience persons should stay out of the water and stay a good distance from the strong shore breaks. Here you can see a lifeguard explaining to a group of visitors to keep a good distance. IMG_5276.JPG

I really like the art on this bathroom. So colorful. There's also a shower on the left side.

A man takes a a much needed break. A chair is empty as another man return to the water for some more beating...just kidding! I'm just gonna sit here a little longer gazing to the ebbs and flow of the ocean waves crashing along the soft sandy shore. Now, I'm feeling sleepy.

Since I can't seem to get enough of this gorgeous scenery, here's one more. Different colors layered on top of one another. So breathtakingly beautiful...

Sandy beach. Sandy's beach. Sandys' beach. I hear it being called in these three ways. Personally, I think it's sandy beach. Anyways, let's move on. Ok, I better get going for a morning stroll to Makapu'u lighthouse.

If you keep going further along the road, it's less sandy to be replaced by small pockets of tide pools with many interesting creatures such as periwinkles and small fish.

At the end of this journey I'd like to leave you with this cute sign as I exited the beach

Thank you so much for your support and until next time, have a wonderful day.

Beach and ocean :-). I love that combination!

Thank u for stopping by. This page is full of beach and ocean stuff. You've come to the right place. Mahalo. Aloha

That looks just like Lake Michigan!

Except we don't have palm trees or mountains or volcanoes or warm water..

Lol. I can totally see the resemblance! I'm so sorry. Come on down soon. The sun and sea will melt that cold away. Aloha!

Some day.

It's been warm here lately, low 90's & 80%+ humidity.

There are a few pics in your post that I could almost duplicate, now, not in winter. ;-)

Wide, sugar sand beach & bright blue water, just no palm trees.

Well, then. I think you are doing just fine. Scared me a little with that snow stuff. 😳 Aloha

Great pictures Aloha friend! 😊🤙🏽
