Have you ever celebrated a birthday more than once? For the past several years, year after year, I have quietly celebrated my 40th birthday. In order to keep my "age" believable I have adjusted my lifestyle accordingly.

The is how I make my DIY vitamin C serum:
--one part glycerin (or a little less)
--one part rose water
--one part juice squeezed from half a lime

I use a plastic spoon to measure the "one part" of each ingredient into a bowl. I mix the combination well with the spoon. Then, repeatedly, I spoon a bit into the palm of one hand and rub my palms together. I use my hands, thus whetted with the watery lotion, to apply the elixer to my face, neck, elbows and knees. I use all of it --spooning into my open palm again and again. Normally, I end up putting it on my arms, legs, feet and the backs of my hands.

One effect is less contrast between the many shades of brown that form my skin palette. Another effect is a remarkable softening of the skin of my knees, elbows, feet and hands. Another possible effect is that it is fading the three very faint horizontal creases I see on my neck. I think the position of my head and neck while sleeping is also helping disapper these telltale signs.

Note: This lotion feels a bit sticky on the skin.
Note: It can be used at night before bed or during the day. I do both, randomly.
