When beauty fades

Does beauty last long? Not exactly. For many beauty equals to appearance. People believe what they see is what it is, but it is so so wrong. Anyone and everyone can look beautiful with a magic wand called 'makeup'. Makeup can make anyone look beautiful, but that doesn't make them truly beautiful, does it?

Many people complimented me on my look for the recently held ceremony at my place. Well, I had hired a makeup artist to dress me up for the ceremony and she spent a good 2 hour on doing my hair and makeup and charged me a few thousand bucks to make me look good. I don't regret the money that I spend on her for I got to hear all praises like- oh, you look so beautiful, why do you go around like a house maid when you can look so beautiful. Duh, because I am not that rich to spend few thousand bucks everyday and not so jobless to sit in front of a mirror doing nothing for 2 long hours every day.

Makeup would fade at the end of the day very much like me henna clad hands. I had a mehendi (henna) artist spend some time doing his shit on my hands because I thought it was the last occasion to do so. He tested all my patience when he was scribbling some meaningless art pieces on my hands while my husband had to care for my son who was shouting his lungs out. It indeed looked beautiful after it dried. The color was awesome. But, very much like make, this also has it's shelf life. My hands look horrible now when the henna art is fading. For me, real beauty is inner beauty. If you are beautiful inside, then you are beautiful outside. Color and facial features would not make you beautiful for me. Your heart and nature is all that matters to me.

Please do not judge people on their outer beauty. One just has to spend some time and money to look beautiful and it will surely fade with time, but inner beauty is something that will never fade.
