The heat wave has ended today in southern Finland

This is not a fact of universal significance but it is a fact nonetheless. Yesterday's peak temperature in Lahti was 25 C. Today it was 17 C.

Facts end here.

Tomorrow will be horrible according to the forecast: the highest temperature of tomorrow will be 9 C. That's a f***ing single digit figure. The daily maximum will get back to 20-25 C at the end of the week. The school year is finally over after the students and the teachers sitting in hot classrooms for a whole month and we're being tortured with such ridiculous temperatures.

Oh well, that's not totally bad for gardening because it involves heavy lifting. My wife and I may create a new flower bed this week. I suppose it's nicer to move all that soil when your brain is not baking in the heat.

My wife's nephews came to visit us from St. Petersburg. They're in their mid twenties. The older one recently graduated from university. He is a physicist in the beginning of his academic career and studies neutron physics. The younger one is close to graduating as a sound engineer. I told him about DSound as a way to earn money by getting upvoted if he publishes his samples. That's what he and some of his friends do and they have managed to sell them on the Internet via some websites. He sounded interested and I promised to help him in making a Steem account.

We're planning to go to Hämeenlinna tomorrow to visit the medieval castle and the military museum. It will be a good day to spend mostly indoors.

Hi Markku. Another missed opportunity. Nephews in mid twenties love gardening. You have manual laborers at your fingertips. A little barbecue and a beer and they are yours. You could have it in your back garden and they would feel obliged to help if you started digging a flower bed.

Hope the hot weather comes back and that it is just a blimp. You guys deserve a longer heatwave than most.

Ah, now that's an idea. But, on the other hand, we'd really like to go to Hämeenlinna.

I guess 25 is a normal temperature, here in kashmir the maximum daily temperature rises upto 33°c and still the government hasn't announced summer vaccations.

Aren't the summer holidays calendar based there, too?

Yep they are, but usually counter-acted by shutdown calls and strikes.

Yes Sir, a museum trip, I really hope they allowed you to take some indoor pic, well it may not sound so bad for gardening but the sweat with cold weather can't be very good.

That's good for what you're going to do with your wife.
My daughters like to sow, and keep plants they have planted sunflower and a fruit tree called Guanabana.
As for the climate of your country I find it fascinating, the coldest thing that I have been is when I work in the machine room, in the bank, a computer that at the time was the AS400, I had to use clothes to keep me warm because it was -5 C
Congratulations for your nephews excellent university careers, you're like me I always talk to steemit many of my relatives, but they do not believe it. Hahaha

Wow! neutron physics!... it seems good to brag ... I like physics (but only out of curiosity). I'll be watching the photos of the medieval castle you're talking about. After all steemit is a virtual journey that i make every time I can haha. Say hello to my to your nephews here Vnzla!!!
