Bees Hotel

Hi,

At first I did not believe that there were lonely bees out there. Then I though that in a suburb it was almost impossible. I start reading and seeing pictures of Bee hotels. I decided that I wanted to try it in my front yard. It was funny to design it and then just go and build it. One of the hardest moments was to tell the friends what was going on. Some laugh and some did not believe it.
In June 2015 I built it and here is a picture of if:

It was quite a simple yet so powerful design that I though will attract bees to it, and I was not wrong, less than a month after I place it:

It was near my 5 gallon buckets to grow tomatoes and some other plants. One day taking a closer look at the hotel I was so happy to see that it actually worked.

Some holes were already full and I caught one visitor building its new home:

Hope you enjoy this little story. It was fun to make and it reminded me the whole process of building it. It's been 2 years and it has served many visitors as well as some spiders that got lucky. But at the end it made me happy to keep nature a little bit closer than me and be able to help protect native and lonely bees.
