A Minnesota Beekeeper in Spring (maybe I should change back to winter?)

Springtime in Minnesota. That’s what the calendar says. This year though, winter is hanging on tough. While we did not get all the snow that many places just south of us did, we still got enough. Although as I am typing this, we are still getting snow, and they are still calling for 13”.
Anyway, the only “beework” I got to do today is to go out and brush the snow off the entrance of the Langstroth hive. The entrance was completely covered up, and the wind had driven snow into the hive. So, I used the entrance reducer to drag the snow out from the hive.
No bees came out to see what I was doing. Hopefully that is because they are too busy clustered up staying warm. The other possibilty, I do not even want to think of.
They are calling for 50’s next weekend. However, they have said that before.
