A Minnesota Beekeeper in Spring, sorta spring, well, not really spring...

Winter storm is done. I hope! We did not get all of the snow that they threatened us with, but we got a fair amount. The wind was howling! I peeked out the window this morning, to check to see if the entrance for Hive Lang was free from snow. I had asked Josh last night to lean some cardboard in front of the hive entrance to keep the snow from piling up. When I checked this morning. He did a good job on that! However, I think due to the wind, the top box (empty, just covering the sugar syrup jar) had been pushed back, along with the inner cover. There was about 2 inches of frames exposed to the elements. Grr! I ran out, took off the top box, and moved the inner cover back to where it is supposed to be. I had to peek though, so I quickly lifted the inner cover, and the girls are all clustered up under the sugar syrup. Thank goodness!
I really hope that winter is all played out now. These girls need to get their on their wings!
