Today is the first time I've ever donned a veil...

Also the first time I've posted a selfie on Steemit!

I had the chance to help a neighbor with her bees today and it was awesome! She asked for help checking in on the hive and possibly starting a new hive, but mainly to treat for mites. It went very smoothly and the bees were very calm today.

I didn't get to take too many photos because we were busy most of the time!

The bottom tray. I was amazed at just how much you can learn about the hive just from this tray! Also, bee pollen is pretty tasty!

Overall a great first time venturing into beekeeping. It will likely be another year or so until I have the time to dedicate to my own bees, but until then I'll be helping my neighbor any chance I can!

Better you than me buddy. One sting and i would be out of there. lol

Haha. Thankfully no stings yesterday!! And I've been stung enough in life to know I'm not allergic!

Bees have always amazed me. How they can work so hard and work together so well. Very cool post!

Yup! The coordination is amazing. Very cool to be able to work with them and at least TRY and help them be even more successful

Aw that's awesome - looks like a nice and tidy stack of bee hives your neighbor has there. I have to make sure and be ready to start a little bee keeping myself next spring :)
